Letter from Greatstone July 2001
We have been here
for 13 months and the sun is shining brightly, all the floods have gone, the
pig ponds are now dry and the pigs no longer need snorkels and flippers. Life is quite idyllic or as we say “lets go
into the garden and have our idylls licked” (honi soit qui mal y pense). We are at
present sitting in the garden listening to George Michael’s “for the heart CD”,
a tour de force of lift music, apparently this is music for people with heart
conditions who do not want to get excited.
Every time a
train passes the dog runs to the top of the hill and barks at it, I am
concerned that Breagha is developing Jenny Agutter tendencies, Karen tells me there is no need to
worry until she starts waving red flannel knickers.
